Funny Halloween Movies List
Picks For Halloween Movies
My second favorite holiday (after Christmas) is Halloween, and I’m already getting ready for this year’s festivities. There is just something I really love about this holiday. Maybe it’s the free candy (who doesn’t like the sugar rush), or carving out jack-o-lanterns, or the crisp, chill in the air, or the kids and adults dressing up as ghouls or pop stars. As a fan of the horror genre, every year I look up old and new movies that will curl my hair. This year, however, I’m looking for fun and funny Halloween movies. Here are my picks this year (some I haven’t seen and some I have seen a lot):
Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice:
When ghosts (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) find out that their house is sold and about to be remodeled by an annoying couple, they decide to use their newly found existence to try and scare the couple away. They finally resort to hiring Beetlejuice (Michael Keeton) to “exorcise” their home of the living. Things go awry when Beetlejuice falls for the annoying couple’s daughter, Lydia (Winona Rider) and hilarity ensues.

Shaun of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead:
This hilarious Brit flick will make you chuckle. Part zombie movie, part romantic comedy, Shaun of the Dead stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Shaun has a hit a dead end in life but it is reinvigorated when the zombie apocalypse begins and he must save the woman he loves.

Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters:
You can’t have Halloween without any ghosts, and when you have ghosts, well, who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters is a funny movie with Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as ghostbusters. These four are hired to get rid of ghosts that are haunting New York City. Things get a little out of hand when the gates are opened to bring forth the end of the world.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas:
I haven’t seen this yet. I know, I know. But I am a fan of Tim Burton’s creations, and I love the whimsical, but spooky touch to everything he makes. I am going to check out this movie because it looks like it combines my two favorite holidays! Also, I’m a sucker for romance.
Zombieland
Zombieland:
This movie came out in 2009 and I have yet to see it. Zombieland comes highly recommended from many zombie movie enthusiasts. Starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, it’s action packed and quirky. Check out the trailer below.
